G Field and Sky Shawl. Designed by Christine Jablonski
The Field and Sky Shawl incorporates clasped weft blocks to create a patchwork effect across a herringbone twill ground, reminiscent of large midwestern fields as seen from an airplane. A slight variation to the traditional clasped weft technique allows for a single pick thickness in each pattern shed, and maintains even selvedges when shifting from two-color sections to single color weaving. This pattern is designed as a recipe, intended for weavers to play with the placement and frequency of their color shifts.
